TX Power: 23 dBm for 5GHz, with that peak physical antenna gain is 7 dBi. So does it mean I need to set antenna gain to 4 for 2.4GHz and to 7 for 5GHz? And how exactly can you check if the setting works?Īgain assuming that the setting still works, you don't have to put anything in it, if you do you should be able to check the power output on the sytem information under wireless, tx power. Peak gain up to 4dBi (2.4GHz) and up to 7dBi (5GHz) SysLog Watcher 5, Security Onion 2 on Virtual Box, Fingboxes, PiHoles, NEMS, Cacti, rpisurv WRT Installation,Upgrade & Basic Setup–Cliff Notes If you put in 5 for antenna gain, it would reduce the amplifier by 5, so you would be left with 25.Īnyone correct me if I am wrong, I have been drinking. Like here in the US, 5Ghz channels 149-165 EIRP is 30 I believe. What exactly changes when you change the antenna gain setting? I use higher gain antennas from Linksys, so do I need to modify those settings from default 0?Īssuming the gain setting still works (which I do not know), it would reduce the amplifiers output to be within the EIRP max power. Where is it?īTW, for those interested, the higher gain antenna did almost nothing for 2.4, but gave me a nice boost on the 5 Ghz channels. So, would be great if I can access this setting, but I cant find it in my Kong build. I changed the antenna on my WRT1900ACv1 to the higher gain WL ANT400 antenna from Linksys. The gain of the antenna is determined by the design of the antenna. If you are thinking will the gain of the antenna be changed after changing this setting.
